This is a section of the RNLI which is now part of Ops'. The Mumbles Lifeboat team consists of the LSSO (Lifeboat Sea Safety Officer) and two Sea Safety Advisors.

Our tasks are, to encourage all boat owners to invite us on board their boats for advice on all safety equipment. We can do this at their Mooring or at their home, it is a friendly chat with Safety in mind.

Safety Officers

We also hold Lifejacket Clinics where people can bring along their Lifejackets and get information on how to look after their Lifejackets and what to look for in wear and tear. We also hold Flare talks and with the right amount of people, sometimes clubs, we will have a flare demonstration. All this is Free!!!!

At the end of the visit the boat owner will receive a certificate having had the Sea Safety Check, this will be signed by the Sea Safety Advisor. Also an RNLI Sea Safety sticker to display on the boat to show everyone a Safety Equipment check has been carried out.
