ALB Launch - 30ft Rinker Motor Cruiser Near Worms Head
Wednesday evening Lifeboat Operations Managers at both Mumbles and Horton were paged to a report of a 30ft Motor Cruiser which was suffering with propulsion failure after stopping to watch a school of dolphins off Worms Head. Horton ILB located the casualty vessel and commenced to tow the large boat towards the Marina in Swansea. The Mumbles ALB headed towards the scene in order to takeover the tow and met Horton ILB West of Overton. Mumbles Lifeboat transferred two crew on board the Motor Boat in order to set up the tow. With line attached the lifeboat pulled the vessel for approximately 2 Hours at 12 Knots back to Swansea marina, and the awaiting Coastguard Crew.
In total 18 volunteer lifeboat crew and coastguards assisted in this operation for the safe recovery of the Motor Boat.
