Bryn Pass and Peter Algie Retirement
16th September 2005
Langland Bay Golf Club
In recognition of a joint 71 years of service we celebrated with family, friends and crew, the retirement of 2 characters from Mumbles Lifeboats.
Never a dull moment, with the two likely lads around, always cracking jokes - sometimes they are funny!!
As a result of the ALB now becoming an afloat boat, the need for both gentlemen has diminished, it is with some sadness to see their service end as a result of the decision not to maintain nor rebuild the boathouse at Mumbles.
Never tiring of their duty at the station, these were the men that you would see as you left on call and without doubt they would always stay at the station whilst we were at sea, no matter how long the service call may have been. And as importantly, they were the first people you would see when we returned safely.
Their devotion to the RNLI The Mumbles - as sea going crew and ultimately as Head Launcher and Winchman has never been doubted and after 71 glorious years they have gracefully said their Goodbye.
It was a pleasure to be in the company of their wives and families for the recognition of their faithful service.
We speak as one, from all of the Mumbles Lifeboat Crew, past and present
Thank You Bryn and Peter
