2nd November 2003	12:06	SW Force 6	Richie Webborn Russell Davies Adam Bere	The ILB was tasked by Swansea Coastguard to a 13ft sailing dinghy in difficulty in Swansea Bay. The Gib Sheet shackle had broken and the two crew were finding it difficult to return to shore. Initially the ILB held off and allowed the yacht to attempt to make way on her own accord. After 15 minutes, due to weather conditions, it was agreed to tow the dinghy back to Mumbles Slip.
1st November 2003	21:56	SSW Force 6-7	Richie Webborn Emma Mathias Chris Jefferies	The ILB was tasked to the Middle Island at Mumbles Head to remove 2 fishermen trapped by the incoming tide. 2 Paraflares were launched in order to locate the fishermen who were suffering with the effects of the cold weather.
28th September 2003	17:32 17:45	N Force 2	Ben Shepherd Rob Tovey Russell Davies	Two persons trapped by incoming tide on Middle Island Mumbles Head. Casualties managed to contact the Coastguards by mobile telephone by dialling 999.
15th September 2003	22:15 23:00	Light Airs	James Bolter Richard Jeffries Dai Thomas	Swansea Coastguard paged the ILB on the report of an attempted suicide 3 miles North East of Station at County Hall. The Coastguard Mobile team attended the incident and recovered the casualty.
7th September 2003	11:07 12:10	S Force 3	Steve Davies Emma Mathias Russell Davies	While on exercise the ILB was flagged down by a fishing vessel in distress. "Cleopatra" - a 26 ft fishing vessel had set anchor 1/4 mile off Mumbles Head suffering with engine failure. Following an assessment of the situation it was agreed to page the Mumbles Lifeboat to tow the vessel to Swansea Marina. 2 Adults and 2 children were aboard.
6th September 2003	12:18 13:45	WSW Force 4	Richie Webborn Spencer Parker Rob Jenkins	ILB was tasked to Oxwich Bay to the report of a Man Overbaord. Normally Horton would have launched, however Swansea Coastguard decided that due to the fact that the boat was in the vicinity of Pwlldi Head that Mumbles ILB was launched. After arriving on scene the casualty was already ashore. Crew assisted with CPR and transfer to Air Ambulance.
5th September 2003	00:38 01:05	Light Airs	Ben Shepherd Adam Bere Glyn Ovens	A report was received from Swansea Coastguard that 3 people were trapped in the sea, unable to climb over rocks. No action taken, as casualties managed to climb out.
24th August 2003	19:02 19:54		James Bolter Dai Thomas Mathew Williams	Crew received report of a child casualty in the water between Langland and Caswell. Arriving on the scene Wales Air Ambulance "Helimed 60" was circling above the area and directed the ILB to the casualties position. The ILB crew recovered the casualty and headed for Caswell Bay where the crew conducted an emergency beach landing. Helimed 60 landed and took the casualty to Hospital, members of the public assisted putting the ILB into the water.
11th August 2003	00:45 01:45	NW Force 3	No Crew Launched	While in the process of recovering the ILB from the earlier call, both crew and Coastguards spotted a red flare in Swansea Bay. Both the ILB and Coastguards were tasked to investigate the sighting. No vessel or persons found and Swansea Coastguards deemed the flare to be a hoax.
11th August 2003	23:30 00:45	NW Force 3	Richie Webborn Adam Bere Glyn Ovens	Reports were received a a yacht which had run aground near Mumbles Lighthouse. ILB crew located the Yacht and were able to refloat the yacht and tow the vessel back to the slip. One person on board, cold needing minor medical attention.
10th August 2003	15:45 17:30	NW Force 2	Richie Webborn Simon Evans Rob Tovey	Swansea Coastguard had received reports of an inflatable dinghy being blown off shore at Brynmill. When arriving on scene 2 dinghy's were found. Mumbles coastguard conducted a search of the area along with the ILB
5^th August 2003	20:25 21:15	N Force 2	Richard Jeffries James Bolter Mathew Williams	Swansea coastguard informed of a disturbance on the Cruise Ship Balmoral with 2 persons going overboard. While on route the ILB was stood down, as both persons were able to get back on board.
5^th August 2003	13:03 13:30	Light Airs	Dai Thomas Dan Wright Chris Jeffries	Report of three persons being swept out to sea through the outer sound at Mumbles. Two children were recovered from the water, one adult swam to shore.
3^rd August 2003	14:00 16:00	Light Airs	Kirsten Butler Ben Williams James Bolter	While on exercise both the ILB and ALB were requested to attend Three Cliffs Bay to aid a 30ft Yacht with a fire on board. The casualty vessel set off an orange flare and ILB pulled alongside. 5 persons on board
3^rd August 2003	12:15 12:40	Light Airs	Ben Williams Chris Jeffries Mathew Williams	While on exercise the crew observed a small speed boat drifting off shore ½ mile at Mumbles. 4 persons on board, three entered the water and attempted to paddle the boat back to shore. ILB towed boat to Knab Rock and continued with the exercise.
19^th July 2003	20:39 21:15	N Force 2	Richie Webborn James Bolter Ben Shepherd Boarding Boat Emma Mathias Russell Davies Mathew Williams	ILB launched to assist person swimming in a distressed state ½ mile in Swansea Bay. Boarding boat launched to assist recovery of the person.
19^th July 2003	13:45 14:30	Light Airs	Ben Williams Emma Mathias James Bolter	ILB launch to a broken down vessel on the Cherry Stones at Mumbles. Tow passed to the vessel and returned to Knab Rock – three persons on board.
7^th July 2003	16:00 17:00	S Force 2	James Bolter Ben Shepherd Dan Wright	Swimmer in difficulty ½ miles off Langland Point.
7^th July 2003	14:00 14:30	Light Airs	James Bolter Ben Willams	While on exercise the ILB was requested to proceed to Langland Point after a 999 call from the public. Arriving on scene 2 persons had been recovered from the water by a speed boat that was towing them on a yellow inflatable banana.

5^th July 2003	13:30 14:15	N Force 2	Rob Tovey Neil Chelley Emma Mathias	2 Jet Skis suffering with engine failure due to ski rope fowling drifted under Mumbles Pier with tide. Both Jet Skis recovered to ILB Slipway with 4 Persons on Board.
2^nd July 2003	08:37 09:45	Light Airs	Ben Shepherd Dai Thomas Robin Woolacott	Broken down 17” Shetland “Maggie May” 100 metres of Mumbles Pier taken in tow and returned to Slipway. 2 Persons on Board.
29^th June 2003	11:45 12:50	Light Airs	James Bolter Chris Jeffries Mathew Williams Spencer Parker	While on exercise the ILB was requested by Swansea coastguard to assist a fishing vessel located 1 mile south of Sketty suffering with fuel starvation. 3 persons were assisted and vessel was towed back to Knab Rock.
27^th June 2003	17:26 18:00	NW Force 2	Huw Mathias Ben Williams	Boat adrift running down channel at Outer Fairway Buoy. Vessel was recovered and returned to mooring in Mumbles.

15^th June 2003	11.42 14.30	NW Force 3	James Bolter Ben Shepherd Richie Webborn	Launch to powerboat Elizabeth with a fouled propeller 6 miles west of Station in Three Cliffs. Horton and Port Eynon ILB on scene. Boat towed back to moorings at Mumbles.
11^th June 2003	14.59 16.40	SW Force 3	Ben Shepherd Russell Davies Glyn Ovens	2 children trapped on ledge between Limeslade and Langland. 1 Casualty recovered from supporting fishing vessel and returned to Lifeguard Station at Langland. 1 Crew member put ashore to assist cliff rescue of casualty to awaiting ambulance.

18^th April 2003	10.30 11.15	SE Force 3	James Bolter Ben Shepherd Richard Jeffries	Small Power Boat Baron suffering with engine difficulty. ILB escorted vessel to local slipway.
17^th April 2003	21.05 21.45	Light Airs	Dai Thomas Ben Shepherd Dan Wright	Recovery of person 50 metres off shore at Norton. ILB stood down before arrival at scene.
